Dhal
Ingredients
- Onions
- Garlic
- Lentils
- Turmeric powder
- Ginger
- Cumin
- Ground coriander
- Garam masala
- Curry leaves
- Chilly
- Chicken stock cube
Method
- Cook the lentils on a medium to low heat add the turmeric and stock cube, 2-3 cups water to 1 cup lentils. Add water whenever it is required.
- Skim off any scum floating on the surface, or the dhal can turn bitter.
- Cook until it turns soft.
- Sauté chopped onion until lightly golden and translucent. then add the ginger, garlic and cumin.
- Add the ground coriander, garam masala, curry leaves, and dry chiles at this stage.
- Combine with the cooked lentils.
