Maldivian breakfast – Mas huni with Roti

Ingredients

  • 3 x Cans of tuna in salt water (cooked fresh fish is traditionally used)
  • 2 x Coconuts grated (Can be replaced with desiccated coconut that have been soaked in water and coconut milk)
  • 1 x Red onion finely chopped
  • Bunch of cilantro
  • Lemon zest and juice to taste
  • Chilli finely chopped to taste
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Mix the chopped onion, chilli, lemon zest & juice, cilantro and salt with the drained tuna.
  2. Use your hand you mix everything in thoroughly (bruising the onion zest and chilly release more flavour)
  3. Add the coconut and mix again
  4. Serve with roti
